Lake manyara national park is a world biosphere reserve located at the base of rift valley escarpment covering area of 330 sq km. Manyara national park is home of tree climbing lions, different wildlife species and Lake Manyara itself which support wide species of birds. The habitat diversity of manyara national park includes open grassy, floodplains, thick acacia woodland as well as lush groundwater forest, rock base and lake shore.

Lake Manyara national park supports wide diversity of wildlife species including tree climbing Lion, Leopard, Hyena, Elephant, Hippo, Waterbuck, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Warthog, Impala, Vervet monkeys, Blue monkeys and troops of Baboon.
Lake Manyara national park support over 400 bird species includes silvery cheeked Hornbills, Bee eaters, Barbets, Kingfishers, Rollers, Owl, white backed Pelican and flamingos within lake Manyara the soda lake covering large area of park approximately 220 km sq.

Activities
Game viewing, Night game drive and other activities outside the park including Walking safaris, Mountain biking and the cultural tour around Mto wa Mbu Village close to Manyara.

Accessibility & Best time to visit

The park is accessible throughout the year but the best times to visit are anytime between May to February. Lake Manyara National Park lies within Tanzania northern circuit just 120km away from Arusha city linked by good surface road and there is Manyara airstrip linked with regional airport and other airstrips.
